Motorola Private Jet Crashes
A Motorola private jet had an accident last Friday when landing at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, USA. The plane went off the runway and stopped some 100 feet from the end of the runway. There was an unnamed Motorola executive on board, but a Motorola spokeswoman would only confirm that it was not Edward Zander, the company's chief executive officer. There were also two crew on the passenger plane.
The Falcon 900 turbojet stopped about 100 feet off the end of the runway, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Murray told Bloomberg News. Teterboro Airport is designed as a "reliever" airport that serves vital interests and general aviation requirements of the Northern New Jersey and the New York Metropolitan Area.
Local politician, Steve Rothman has called for a reduction in that traffic the airport, which is one of the busiest small airports in the country.
"The time has come for the FAA to allow the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to make the changes the PA wants to make to reduce the number of flights at Teterboro," Rothman said. |
